The first thing you think when your computer is running slow is that it requires more memory, then you go out and buy more memory and it looks good for a month or two. Then slows down again. Has this happened?

None of this requires some technical knowledge at all.

# 1. Clean up your hard drive. Remove any programs you do not use. Remove anything you do not recognize this as spyware and adware installs with similar sounding names of joint programs. You should also remove any unwanted files. This will free space on your hard disk.

# 2. Defragment your hard drive using the built-in Windows tool for this from the start menu. Start -> Programs -> Accessories -> System Tools.

# 3. Check windows for errors. Go to Start -> All Programs -> Accessories-> Command Prompt. Then type chkdsk / f and press enter. You will see a message that it can not run and now you want to run it when you restart the computer. Press yes and restart your computer. This will check for errors and fix them.

This will only adopt fundamental errors and will not fix any errors in the registry.

# 4. Perform a free registry scan on your computer. This will appear in the registry errors your computer may not start any unwanted items and anything nasty hiding on your computer. If errors are found, will report to you and you can solve them with a click of a button.
